im going to be trying this with fxpansion vst-au wrapper
ill let you know what i find tonight
on another note. without this plugin… what is the preferred method to “recall” Little Phatty patches in a song… im a total analog synth newb and am used to having VSTs automagically store patches in my logic 8/9 songs
right got that. so if im a logic user, i guess im stuck with writing the patch name down with the song, and just dialing it up on the LP everytime that i want to load that song. (unless this vst-au wrapper works of course )
i tested with fxpansion vst-au adapter. no luck =[ no audio and the gui does not respond. it fails validation. im using newest version of logic9 and newest version of leopard.
unfortunately the intel binary version is useless with logicaudio. is there any plan to make an audiounits version? logic is the definitely the most prominent osx music app after all …
The VST Little Phatty Editor does not pass any audio; it’s a MIDI-controller only. So you’d still need to set up an audio input channel as usual for the LP.
However, if no MIDI is being passed by the FXpansion VST-AU wrapper, that’s a problem. I have an email in to the FXpansion guys now to clarify whether or not this should work. If it can be made to work, then we will probably license the tech from FXpansion and make a “native” Logic-compatible version of the plugin. If there’s no way to use FXpansion’s technology to pass MIDI from the plugin to logic, then… I don’t know what to do.
Can anyone report whether there are existing AU plugins for Logic that generate MIDI output? That would be good to know.
