Hope this is real? Not sure but did see it on Moog Music’s Twitter Feed..thought i’d share! Kinda looks photoshopped but dunno!!
Just a thought if it is real, could it be polyphonic perhaps?
Looks slightly photoshopped–but perhaps only to correct colors for posting to the web…To that point, I think that this thing looks real. Nothing jumps out at me as indicating that it’s polyphonic. But it does appear to have something like a ribon controler between the keyboard and the control panel!
In all It looks like a Voyager with extended patch capabilities–something that expands the Voyager’s playability further towards the modular synthesis roots on which the original Minimoog was based. This could be quite interesting.
It’s real. Check these hi-res pictures, spend some time looking at the 1/4" on the left, you’ll see ribbon outs, and additional LFO with multiple waveforms, sync light, etc. etc. etc.
With closeups and details like this, it would be easier to make one from existing parts then to photoshop it to this level of detail.
Shame they didn’t make a 6 voice Poly with this interface and 5 octave BUT wishing them lots of success.
Looks like Moog Music just went ahead and won the race to the nearest star system or something. I wonder what the guys at Korg are thinking now… They’re probably tearing up their plans for the Monotron XL.
Yeah, you miss 1,5 octave, some extra wood, and a couple of things here and there.
And most importantly 1500 dollars.
The way I see it, is that Moog is milking the Voyager to EXTREME. First it’s signature edition, then it’s performer, then it’s Select series, then they put some more colors, then it’s Voyager OS, then it’s Voyager XL, then what?
I easily passed. I was expecting a polyphonic but it seems that it won’t happen. Too busy making Voyager XXL+.
