Voyager XL and Ribbon CV Out to VCA Pan inverted?

Good evening,

I just got myself a Voyager XL and notice that if I connect a patch cable from Ribbon CV Out to VCA Pan and sweep the ribbon controller the sound seems to be inverted, ie. sweeping the left side of the ribbon pans the sound right and vice versa. Anyone else experience this or is my unit faulty?

I think that’s correct. The ribbon is just a potentiometer. All the way to the right is 5volts. Sending 5 VoLTE to the pan is going to invert it. Don’t think about the ribbon controller as a cross fader. And I don’t really think of the Pan CV as as panning, to me, it sounds more like CV for the “spread” knob on the filter.

Ok, glad that everything seems to be in order then. I wouldn’t like to send my precious black beauty away just to get a cable flipped or something like that.
I guess the Pan CV will make more sense to me when facing the crowd on stage then ^

you could always run it to the CV mixer, and then out of the negative output from the mixer, to invert it.

and what stage are you playing on that actually runs a stereo image?

I don’t believe the pan jack is adjusting the spacing control at all, if you are using both outputs it is reducing one output or the other and it seems to “pan” back and forth. Also, perhaps the op is playing in the home studio? Stereo is fun.
