Voyager to Computer Hardware Interface

Hi,

What’s the best way to connect my Voyager to my computer to use the Voyager Editor program? I’ve seen the Turtle Beach & Hosa MIDI to USB connector cables, is that the standard way? My computer has Firewire (4 pin nonpowered variety); is there a Firewire option?

You can probably tell that I know almost nothing about MIDI; thanks in advance for any advice on this topic.

I use the M-Audio Midisport 2x2. You’ll need two midi cables as well; for an In and an Out. I think the Midisport is $50-60. You don’t use the Firewire port. The Midisport uses USB. Now there might be other interfaces that use Firewire.

for this kind of data (sysex only) even the cheapest midi interface will do the job. There is no timing or multi outputs needed.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money. Almost all soundcards have MIDI on them anyway, all you need is a £10 cable.

I use this for sysex transfers because I can’t transfer with my MOTU 828mkII for some reason :astonished:
Very easy to use, basically just plug in and play.

i have the same 1X1 and works great, if you want a firewire interface Presonus Have a number that are excellent and fit most price points.
