Hi.
I have the follwing problem, need help from moog staff or fellow moog users.
I use the minimoog voyager [performance, ver 3.4] also as a master keyboard:
have NO computer in my setup, and don’t want one.
local control for keys and pbw and mw is off,
midi out goes into a nexus jlcoopper patchbay,
and midi in receives data either from the minimoog keyboard (through patchbay) OR from a yamaha Vl-1 keyboard.
The minimoog/master controls the following sound modules: korg m1-ex, korg radias, yamaha mu-100, DSI mopho and the Vl-1 itself.
So I can play on the voyager keyboard and get a stacked moog+vl-1 jazz solo, while the vl1 keys play the m1-r and the mopho
or I can play the moog+vl1 on the vl-1 keys while the moog keyboard runs the radias vocoder.
Plenty of freedom etc etc.
Everything happens on a single midi channel.
PROBLEM:
some of the modules DON’T have any midi filtering capabilities, or have scant capabilities,
and the pathcbay hasn’t selective midi filtering capabilities.
Well, the midi messages coming from the minimoog are creating problems:
master volume silences or attenuates volume of all connected modules
filter cutoff changes parameters on the mu-100
and ABOVE ALL, I don’t want “midi bank” and “midi patch change” messages to be transmitted by the minimoog.
I can’t set “midi out” to “NO”, of course, or I wouldn’t be able to use the voyager both as a midi keyboard and as a module.
Any solutions?
Any way of shutting down forever the undesired midi messages? (abolishing patch and bank changes would be already a good thing for starters)
Any idea of a very simple, once-for-all programmable, hardware midi thingamajig [the kind Anatek built in past years] which can let modulation, pitch bend, aftertouch and velocity go through, but blocks filter, master volume, etc.?
I don’t want to use a computer live, but I CAN use a computer in order to program a little box which since then filters the midi messages as appropriate.
Any ideas?
