Ok, it’s been two days since I’ve had my Voyager and it’s already acting weird.
When I first start it up it shows the Moog splash screen for about two seconds. The contrast for the Moog logo goes to zero (almost black) during those two seconds.
It then goes to the ‘PANEL Parameters - Filt ENV Amount’ page. It shows the ‘Memory’ number and the ‘Actual’ number, but starts automatically dropping the ‘Actual’ number by -14 for about 5 seconds.
It starts out at -72 dropping the amount rapidly until slowing down to -58 until it stops and goes to the current preset.
If I don’t change the current preset, the sound will be muffled or sound different to some degree unless it’s original filter amount is already -58 due to the automatic filter amount change at start.
The worst thing is the ‘Amount To Filter’ knob has no effect on any sounds, and doesn’t even show any changes happening in the LCD display.
Is this a new machine, or used?
If it is new it sounds like it’s time for a warranty trip (Or exchange at the music store.)
If it is a used out of warranty machine, it sounds like time to open her up and look for a loose connection.
You might try reloading the OS. I don’t think that will help, but it won’t hurt.
(it’s acting like it isn’t scanning that knob correctly or it is falsely seeing a MIDI CC for that knob.)
BTW, BUMMER!
(I live with the fact my select up button doesn’t have debounce and doubles most of the time I hit it. I’m too cheap to send it in.)
Did you e-mail Amos? It sounds like there may be a loose cable or something you could fix with a step-by-step tutorial compliments of Amos At Moogmusic D0t CoM. I’m just guessing, but either way, e-mailling Amos would be a good first step.
If I had to settle for anything different it would be the Fire, black cabinet, which would have to be a special order because the black cabinets aren’t being made anymore.
Yeah, I noticed that the other day. Must not have been too popular. It’s good that you went through Sweetwater, and not Musicians Friend. That would have been a nightmare!
