I recently obtained Signature #144 and I’m very happy with it. I loaded the most recent OS prior to 3.0. I plan to get the 3.0 update at some point, but truthfully patchbanks don’t do all that much for me and I’d rather have a CP/VX combo first.
The only thing I can’t figure out (which MAY be fixed in the 3.x updates) is the pitch bend settings and how it affects transposition. For some reason many patches the pitch bend wheel does nothing at all, and others it works perfectly. I can’t find where the overall setting is that turns the pitch bend on and off.
Moreso all of the patches are transposed differently. It seems to have something to do with the pitch bend setting. Changing the setting seems to effectively transpose the keyboard by some amount. Thus all of the preset patches that I have loaded think that “C” is something different and I have to plug my guitar tuner in and then use the fine pitch knob to retune it each time. I’ve never owned a MM before. Is this the way it’s supposed to work?
Also, is there any way to slow the LFO down massively (or Oscilator 3? for really long evolving notes, or will have to get a modular and plug one of it’s LFOs in to get a super slow (like nearly a minute per cycle?) LFO?
Also I already had the lowpass filter. It’s fun to use on my guitar at times, but I rarely play live (not taking the Voyager live just yet if ever). Is there any reason to keep it around with the fact that I have the voyager here? I was thinking of trying to find someone to trade for the ring mod.
Thanks. I’ll look into that. I also noticed tonight that at least on one sound the Filter Release changes the pitch by about a 3rd. Weird. I’ll search.
I had pitch bend problems. When I upgraded to 3.2 they went away. I noticed I would be several tones off after using the cursor button. If I used the cursor and then moved the pitch bend it would go back into tune until I hit the cursor again. The upgrade fixed that. Also I think sometimes it is advisable to reload the patch banks back after upgrading. As I recall sometimes some older patches were made before certain upgrade features were added or changed. In particular, pot mapping. After reloading the patches after an upgrade, the patches were able to implement the changes. Hope that helps. I think there is a better explanation somewhere else on this forum.
When you didn’t use the pot mappings you should reset them after the 3.2 update. Go to the MASTER menu page 3.4 press ENTER, press the +1 button and select Pot Mapping, press ENTER, select YES (by the CURSOR) and ENTER. Maybe this helps.
Have fun,
Rudi
Alrighty, I’ll take my sig down to ashville when I go visit my sister in a few months. I’ll get the hard case for travel, but do you know if you can fit it in an overhead compartment? I’m VERY scared of putting it under an airplane.
There is no way it would fit in the overhead of a plane. The molded case is larger (but lighter) than the aluminum case. I have the aluminum case and it and the Voyager weigh 90 pounds. I would feel confident transporting the Voyager in the aluminum case.
