I just finished tax returns and the government has been kind. So once that money gets deposited in the bank, I am going to finally be getting my first moog. I have been drooling over the voyager os for quite a while. since it was recently discontinued, I found it that much more urgent to snatch one up as soon as possible. When I finally get it, I will be sure to post some photos.
Thanks for the tip Eric! I was trying to figure out where I was going to order the OS. I think they are the only ones that I have seen offering free shipping via UPS ground. Not a bad deal.
This is the first year that I have gotten a monster return back from taxes. I hope that is something that will continue on over the next few years. My taste in gear empties my pockets fast.
that is amazing to know. i will take what i can get. i know that i will need to get a hard case for it as well since i plan on gigging with it. the cases are a good chunk of cash by themselves.
i got mine for $2295 plus the $100 from the grammy sale. so $2195 and free shipping. i didnt think that was too bad, but EricK says i could have done better!
i ended up getting the OS for 2195 (not the whitewash or open box), and the hard case for 230. so total price at the end was $2425. With the rebate, I get away with $2325, not to mention a nova musik t-shirt, coffee mug, and a half pound of coffee. ha!
after about 4 hours of tweaking and getting familiar with the voyager, i am madly in love with it. seems like she really warmed up after a while. the sounds are amazing! i am not sleeping tonight.
Oh my Bob I want an OS sooo bad! Im going to buy some lotto tickets this week lol. Its just such a perfect design. I hope im able to get one before they all sell out and the price sky rockets.
Hopefully Moog will specify why they discontinued these in the future. I’m only hearing love for these things. It’s one of the few modern, portable, and truly analog (no MIDI, no digital patch storage) synths out there. Now that I said that… I can’t think of any other modern synths of it’s kind.
apparently they just did not get the sales that they may have been hoping for. i know lots of people that love the voyager, but just don’t have the cash to buy one. when i listen to the moog compared to other cheaper synths that they use trying to emulate the moog, i know that the moog is worth every cent and more. it really is night and day.
I noticed a lot of people saying on forums that it was the lack of MIDI that turned them off. Having no presets, touchscreen or other digital components is one thing. Not being able to integrate the OS into your setup is another. I bought a Kenton for sequencing…problem solved.
