If you can use a synth to view your bones, its time to turn down the LEDs a tad. Check out my ET impression!
Im not exaggerating, those LEDs really hurt my eyes My studio is not as bright as it could be and if trying to read the main LCD, the overpowering illumination from the LEDs really hurts! Worst is if the Master LED is on (most central). I usually end up putting something over them to save on eye strain..
Oh well, good excuse not to use the menus!!
btw - the below DVDA track has 303 overdriving the Voyager all the way through plus a very low boom - boom Voyager bass sound (comes in 3:12, easiest to stop as the very last two notes in the track.
The glowing pitch/mod wheels on my AE always kind of pissed me off. Stand in the room at the wrong angle and have the blue light hit you in the eyesâŚyouâll be seeing stars!
I hate that too. I was working on the Voyager Friday night and I had the mod wheel set right where I needed the sound, but the light was shining into my eyes which was annoying as hell. Price of beauty I guess. I wouldnât want to trade them for the black rubber ones. Maybe Moog needs to sell some Moog goggles with a headlight?
Hi - no, there is nothing wrong with the LCD screen. Its the LEDs under the screen. They are so bright that when you are looking at the LCD screen you have to squint to get your focus past the brightness of the LEDs..
Sticking PostIt notes over the LEDs means you can still see if they are on/off but without that âlooking into the sunâ effect..
A technician is able to modify the display and wheel brightness. For the modwheel you just have to exchange the used LEDs with some other blue LEDs with less brightness. If you use other blue LEDs you donât have to change the resistor that is limiting the current. But donât change the LEDs to other colours unless you know how to change the needed resistors for some others in order not to burn the new red or green or what ever LEDs.
The brightness change on the LCD needs a tech and is not recommended to unexperienced hobby technicians.
But take care, this might void your warrenty *
Unplug the unit before opening *
only do this if you know what you are doing *
I am happy with the brightness of the wheels and the LCD.
It would be kind of cool to change some of the LEDâs to some other colors. red-lfo speed green-external input It does seem like you would just be blowing money on astetics of something that alreadly looks great.. Any of you willing to change some of the LEDâs?
This would only need to desolder the old ones and solder in the new ones. But I wonder how to reach these LEDs. I have not opened my Voyager there yet.
awwways look on the broiiight sooiide of loooifeâŚ
at least you don`t need a christmas tree. just decorate the voyager with twigs, switch it on, place the prezzies around it and hey presto, instant christmas glee.
