Several posts about this one but nothing conclusive so I’ll ask a fresh version of the question (specific use case):
I recently bought a Walking Stick ribbon controller from Psionic Soundworks; it was the ‘new’ model (with position and pressure) and Joe was good enough to custom stain mine to match my whitewash Old School and added the Gate momentary button, which brings me to the point of this post.
The Gate just doesn’t seem to get it done and Joe has been very helpful but still no avail.
It would be simple enough to wire the switch directly to tip/sleeve but I asked him for a powered Gate. It works fine on his synth.com modular but not on my Old School.
I checked voltage and found it to be about the same as the output of my VX-351’s Gate out and also took a pulse/square modulation output from the VX-351 that also worked on the incoming gate.
I’ve seen posts about requiring a very square pulse, about the start being below 0v (ie. negative something) and having to be slightly higher than +5v. But nothing conclusive. Anybody have any experience here or can tell me the specifics here?
There are only a handful of Walking Sticks produced with the momentary switch and a very cool demo here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EULtQDk7FXE&feature=player_embedded that lead me to wanting this. But this is a generic question so…
Thank you in advance.
