Hi All,
Loving my OS! I do want to interface with my Cakewalk Sonic software and am having some issues. I have a Kenton Pro Sonic Mk 2 unit and an M-audio USB/Midi interface. Unfortunately the software, although it recognizes the M-audio unit, does not ‘see’ the OS and will not receive any inputs from the OS.
I used a multimeter to confirm that that the OS is sending voltages to the Kenton unit. Thoughts? I am sending via channel 1.
It seems Ive always had trouble with Midi, except for the direct instrument to instrument connections (except for trying to sync the Midi CLock from a roland 808) I never could get the Voyager to do what the software said.
MIDI is your friend! I used to be intimidated by it and would try to get around using it. Now I try to come up with new things I can do with it, hence my post in another thread (sorta similar to this topic) from today LOL!
MIDI is like a foreign language and takes time to become familiar with the specs, but once you become fluent, you’re golden. An electronic musician skimping on MIDI is selling themselves short, IMO.
That being said, I do appreciate the hardcore synth peeps who multitrack audio of their performances, like the Wendy Carlos of yesteryear.
