Voyager Editor

Hi,

I currently have OS version 3.3 on my Voyager RME. I was looking at purchasing the editor, so I downloaded it and currently using it in demo mode. In the About section it says that it is version 3.0.0… some things are not working as advertised, ie. when I drag the cursor over the knob, the info does not display in the Touch Surface Area, unless I click the knob, which intern changes the setting…
My questions are, if I buy this version will the full mode get me version 3.3? and are these problems just with the demo version? Also, I would like to back up my presets in this version before I update to OS version 3.4. When I update do I have to purchase the 3.4 librarian as well or can I upgrade from the librarian 3.3 to 3.4 at no extra cost?

Thank you.

Skeez.

The current version of the Voyager Editor is 3.4.4. You can get it here:

Try this one instead of the one you’re using now - I believe that Marc corrected the issues you reported in this latest version.

Thanks Greg!

Link doesn’t work for me.

The link works just fine for me…?

Weird. Every other page on their site loads, but the Voyager page is blank for me.

no blank page with firefox

I now why you got this nick name here

you’re not alone Just Me, doesn’t work on my machine here at work either. weirdness.

At any rate, good luck getting them to reply to you, they’ve ignored me for weeks after updating tickets about a DSI thing. They make good software but their support is non-existent.

like I said before, try with firefox and you wont have a blank page ^^

Plz Moogmusic, it would be great to have a VST editor for the voyager like the little phatty with rekon audio

Not everyone is allowed to use firefox or another browser on their computer. And if a company doesn’t support the most widely used browser on the planet, (even if it is garbage) they deserve to lose business. Nice economy to be able to ignore a vast market.

Hi Windows guys,
here’s the link for the PC version:
http://www.soundtower.com/moog/voyager/download/MoogVoySetup344.exe

and here’s the link for MAC:
http://www.soundtower.com/moog/voyager/download/voyager_setup344.dmg

Have fun,
Rudi

Thanks,
Got it now.

If I click on the link that Rudi sent above, the file which is downloaded is MoogVoySetup300x.exe and not …344.exe. Is this the proper file?

Also, can the Voyager editor be used to update the OS? I have ver. 3.3. and would like to go to 3.4. Is 3.4 the latest?

Thanks,
Yannis

No, when I make a download I get the MoogVoySetup344.exe.
I prefer the freeware MIDIOX to update the Voyager software.
The 3.4 version is the latest.
If you want a 3.5 beta for the keyboard version send me an email.
Have fun,
Rudi

Hi Rudi,

please check your email.

Any chance for a preview of what’s going to be new in v. 3.5?

Just bought the Voyager Editor Librarian v3.4 last night and have been mucking around with it all day.

I can’t believe I missed that it has morphing capabilities.

I can choose two different patches, morph them together, and BAM! I get an instant 128 new patches, with 1/4 being useful

Love this software. It makes saving patches so much easier than MIDIOX.

The Preset Genetics function in the Editor (supports morphing, mixing, mutating & randomization of any two selected presets) is indeed a very cool little tool! Back in the day when I ran the SquareWave site, I used this function to create and post a Voyager ‘Monthly Mashup’ patch, with a brief description of the seed patches that were used to create the new Preset. For anyone interested, all 10 of those Monthly Mashup patches are available on KnobTweak:

KT > Voyager > Voyager Patches - Users > Voyager Mashups.zip

I saw your genetics patch offerings on KT and am planning to put at least one genetics patch pack together for KT too.

I’m discovering the worth of the Voyager more and more every time I use it.

Before I owned one I used to think the Voyager might only be good for modular noise, but man was I wrong.

It only takes seconds to get biting leads and growling basses, whereas other synths took a lot more time going through menus to get that kind of quality.

And now with the editors genetics feature, the possibilities are limitless. It really is the best software/hardware combo for flushing out ideas on the quick.
