I just bought 3 synths with knobs… A SPhatty, a voyager and a waldorf blofeld. i want all 3 of them to act as controllers and be able to capture their respective knob movements (cc data) from all 3 synths via their respective knobs…here is my problem:
Example:
when i record-arm ( layer ) all 3 synths in Logic and tweak the voyager’s cutoff, that cc date arrives at my other synths and screws with their sounds.
I need a way for all 3 synths to be recording their respective knob movements (cc data) without it arriving at the others…
Simple solution:
assigne different midi channels to each instrument. CCs are depending on midi channels. So if you use the Voyager on channel #1, the others won’t get this data, unless the use channel #1 as well (or omni mode).
And be careful with the assigned midi channels of the Blofeld multies, there are always 16 channels active be default. Mute the non needed parts here.
Thanx for helping me. they are all assigned to their own respective midi channels. i also discovered that the blofeld is switchable to sysex instead of cc which simplies things ( btw blofeld coldness + moog warmth is an unbeatable combo )…
In logic environment i’m cabling physical input from sum to sequencer input…and then i just have 2 standard instruments and 1 multi instrument that have their respective ports assigned to the phatty, voyager and blofeld.
