Voyager Aftertouch Upgrade

How would one test a Voyager for whether is has the Aftertouch upgrade or not? I am not sure what I am listening for one way or the over. THANKS!

Route the aftertouch to the filter in HP/LP mode. Use filter selfoscillation. All oscillators turned off. No envelope to filter modulation. Max sustain on the VCA envelope. Turn the Cutoff to some lower audible frequency.

Then apply different amounts of aftertouch. Are you able to get a smooth response all over the pressure range? Or is it a bit like on or off only?

You may also check the outgoing midi data stream of the aftertouch in a midi monitor (I am using the freeware MIDI Monitor for Mac here). You will notice, that with the old aftertouch, it is impossible to get close to a given value in the mid range. With the aftertouch upgrade it is better. I haven’t tested a new Voyager for this. But my old Voyager with the Lintronic aftertouch fix by Rudi Linhard (the Voyager software coder) it is superb !

I got a patch in my Voyager that routes aftertouch to pitch. And I am able (but not well trained) to play melodies with the aftertouch only on a single key. Gives you a theremin like control
