Vintage Mini Experts: Back panel screws: Black or stainless?

I have a mini that is getting serviced. I believe it is an older Musonics version and it had (I believe) black back panel screws. The tech just told me that the originals would be stainless. So I looked at all the pictures I could find of old minis, and there was an old Musonics Mini that had black screws like mine (although I did buy some replacement screws that were also black but perhaps the seller knew that a Musonics would have black ones?)

I know it has nothing to do with the functionality of the minimoog, but if anyone out there knows whether RA/Musonics started out using Black back panel screws and then changed over to stainless steel early in the run, say around 2000?

Thanks.. Seems like a stupid question but I like asking them.. So far I’ve dodged flame bullets…

On the very early Minis, black screws were sometimes used.
If yours has them, they’re likely stock.
I have serial 1401 here and it doesn’t have black ones, so it was for ones even earlier than this.

Moog never used stainless, fwiw.
The standard metal screws are a plated steel, but they’re not stainless.

On my RA #1053 none of the back panel screws are black.

Which leads us to “Electrong, what’s your serial number?”

Oh wait… my mistake.
This one (s/n 1401) does have black rear screws.
Sorry. I have several Minimoogs apart and looked in the wrong bin.
