but any predictions on timeframe ?

Iād love to know as well!
UP !!
I think they have to compile the LP os v2 fitting for lp 1 anew - because of the USB hardware and maybe other hardware changesā¦
letās see⦠so long!

any chance of a idea, Amos?
well, many features are now implemented in a āproof of conceptā sense, but there are many refinements to be made, and no doubt there will be bugs we have to fix. We had a meeting about this yesterday, and we determined that our plan of action is to get all of the currently-implemented features working very well for version 2.0, in time for this version to ship with the first LP Stage IIās. In theory, this will happen around the middle of April.
Then, as soon thereafter as we can, we will release OS 2.1 which will implement all of the āextraā features that we really want to put in version 2, but canāt add in all at once for fear of delaying our ability to ship product.
Once LP OS v2.0 is finished and shipping out the door, we can release it for current LP Stage owners⦠although we want to work very carefully to make sure there are no problems with the firmware upgrade process before we do a public release. Likewise, once OS v2.1 is solid and stable enough to put into production, we can release it to our existing users. This is probably the point at which we will port the new code over to the LP Tribute Edition platform (donāt worry, we will definitely do this!). We may do a Tribute version of 2.0 but given that 2.1 is going into development virtually the moment that 2.0 is finished, it might not make good sense to spend time (and money) porting 2.0 to the Tribute, when it will be replaced almost immediately by 2.1.
There you have it, the very most current state of affairs. Right now MIDI sync is working beautifully and I am testing the tap tempo, which is in progress.
Cheers,
Amos
Thanks for the update Amos.
Thank you!
Iām glad to hear itās coming for TE as well

Tribute folks, there is a very real possibility that the new OS has grown too large to fit entirely into the Tributeās smaller memory. We wonāt know exactly how big the new OS is until itās finished, but I wanted to post this warning now in advance. It is definitely possible to upgrade the memory of the Tribute and itās an easy procedure for a tech to do⦠what we will probably need to do is to create a āfull versionā v2 OS for the Tribute which will require a memory upgrade, and then an āas much as we can fitā v2 OS which will work on non-upgraded Tributes. More info as I have it; again we canāt know exactly how this will go until the Stage Edition OS is complete.
Donāt worry, I am keeping all of you in mind as we work on this project.
Cheers,
Amos
Thanks again Amos for the update on the OS. Is the memory hardwired in or plugged into a socket?
It is a little chip soldered to the main circuit board just above the processor. To replace it properly requires good tools for working on surface-mount electronics⦠not difficult (itās just one 8-pin chip) but not a DIY job unless you are a tech and have the right equipment.
I knew you were going to say that. Well I have a solder sucker and a soldering iron from Radio Shack. ![]()
thou shalt not take a Radio Shack soldering iron to thine LPā¦
at least get a Weller!
lol yes sir
