I did some experimenting today with my Korg M3 and a low pass fooger. I tried a helicopter sound and a train sound and processed it with the fooger. When I ramped up the resonance the fooger made the bleeps and bloops that I have found on You Tube from those who use the 101 to overprocess drum sounds.
At lower levels, I was able to shape the rhythmic sound. My hope here is to create an eletro-acoustic work combining several rhythmic mechanical machines and process them so that they change in time between their dry sound and a processed electronic sound.
I want to add in things like the London Subways “Mind the Gap” on loudspeaker and the sound of a train horn as it comes into the station and other effects from helicopters to factories.
I hope to get something interesting and the foogers will add the electronic processing that I want to transform one sound into something very different.
