I saved the user bank of my Voyager last week using the soundtower library software - save command. Now I am trying to upload the user bank to a different Voyager using the load command and it won’t do anything. I think the format of the saved file is wrong. It has saved as a
.m
file, instead of a
.mvr
file. I didn’t notice at the time, I just thought that since it had saved a file it would be in the right format. It calls itself a “Plain text file” instead of a “application/moog mvr” file
Is there any way of changing the plain text into a .mvr file. We’re really screwed without these sounds…
Thanks all.
Does it help when you first make a copy of this file…select this copy…go into properties…and change the extension to .mvr and try to load this again…???
I changed the extension and it came up with the moog thumbnail. So far so good. But I still can’t load any info from the file into the library editor. There are no error messages or anything, just nothing happens. I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong, does anyone have experience with the Library software, i have my file and I am just clicking “Load”. If I saw a change in the edit window I would then cklick “transmit” to send the bank to the Voyager, however I do not see a change in the edit window. Certainly not the patch’s I need to see.
How is the MIDI ID number (MASTER menu page 3.4)? The number must be the right one otherwise nothing happens when you try to reload the preset bank.
Have fun,
Rudi
This just proves you changed the file extension to “.mvr”. Your computer don’t check if the actual content of the file is a real “.mvr” file.
A Moog Voyager “.mvr” file is 136.576 bytes in size on my Mac. The file size on a PC should be the same. But I can’t check this here.
Check the file size of the file in question. If it is not in this file size, chances are, that it is not the right file at all ![]()
