Upgrading from Version 2.3

Hi everyone,

I’ve been wanting to buy a Voyager for a long time, and I think I found one which I will be this coming week, but have a couple of questions for the experts here

The version I am looking at is a Voyager Aniversary Edition with version 2.3 OS.
Are all the Voyager’s the same? I get a little confused with the various editions etc.
I’m not concerned about the colour of the wood or lights, but are the insides exactly the same?
Will I be able to update the OS from 2.3 to 3.5 myself? Is this something I just do online, or does it involve a hardware change, and must I send it to Moog to do for me?
I’ve read a lot, and some of it is confusing, so I thought this place would be a good place to get some sound guidance.

Also, how do I upgrade it so I get the 7 banks of 128 sounds, do I buy something from Moog to do this or how is it done?

Thanks for your time

The OS update is done by playing some midi sysex data into the Voyager. The OS is for free.
But some people have problems sending proper midid sysex.

Do a back up of your sounds before this !!!

The memory upgrade from 128 sounds to 7 banks of 128 sounds each is done by exchanging the digital board of the Voyager. You can do it your self, if you are experienced with electronics. Or ask someone how is able to help you on this. Or let Moog do this hardware update for you.
I was able to do it my self. But I am not a beginner in opening synths.
