I just picked up a Minitaur to polychain with my Sub 37. While it has a great sound, I’m still trying to figure out how poly chaining works. I can play two-note chords fine but when I try to play two melodies at once, it alternates between the Minitaur and Sub 37 sounds for each note. Is there away so that the higher note is always the Sub 37 and the lower note is always the Minitaur even if they are played at different times? Or, is the only way to play two independent melodies connecting Minitaur to a separate midi controller? Is polychaining only functional for chords?
It sounds like its functioning as intended. The poly chain order is determined by the notes played order, not high or low.
However, you can accomplish what you were attempting in duo mode one the sub37 all by itself. Set the duo priority however fits your goals and play both melodies. Of course, you will split the oscillators.
But yes, polychaining is just for chords, or anything you want to “round robin”
Thanks. That’s what I thought. I do use the Duo mode on the Sub 37 but that prevents you from fully utilizing the envelope generators. I’ll just pick up the Keystep Pro when it comes out in a couple months and use that as a controller for the Minitar.
