Two finger trackpad drag working backwards?

0.9.37 on OS X

I just noticed something different:

  • with a two finger drag up on the trackpad, the knob is turned down
  • with a three finger drag up on the trackpad, the knob is turned up

The way it used to work was both types of upward drag turned the knobs up, but at different rates.
Now, the two finger drag is the slower rate, as it was before, but it’s in the opposite direction.

Just in case it mattered, or wasn’t done on purpose.

When you do the same with other plugins, what does 2 and 3 finger drag up/down exactly do ?

I’m standalone only; no plug-ins.

In 0.9.28, both two- and three-finger upward drags turned the knob upward (cw), and both kinds of drag down, turned the knobs down (ccw).

However, in Ctrlr (also using Juce), the two-finger-drag-up gives turn-knob-down (which surprised me), and which is backwards from the 0.9.28 release.

If no-one else has noticed it, then it’s something “special” here again… sorry.

Added 2/15:
0.9.37 – two finger drag goes in wrong direction - drag up, knob down
0.9.36, 0.9.28 – two finger drag is OK - drag up, knob up

Edit: << I tried a release that wasn’t actually released, and it didn’t work. Well, duh! >>

0.9.39 is working fine.

Thanks, so are all mentioned issues solved by now ?

Hey Mike,

Can this be closed ?

Thanks, Gil.

Sorry, Gil, I missed it.
Yes, indeed, this can be closed.
Thank you.

A side note:

2-finger drag is the same as a mouse wheel scroll.
3-finger drag is the same as holding the mouse button while moving the mouse.

If they both work in opposite directions, you might just want to invert your scroll direction (System Preferences >> Trackpad >> Scroll & Zoom >> Scroll Direction: Natural).
