hi!
1.) is it possible to tune each individual key on the LP? so one could experiment with different tunings ?
2.) when tuning, what does the number 0 refer to in actual frequency of the sound wave?

what i meant was : to what temperament is LP tuned to? i assume the answer would be equal temperament like the most of the modern keyboards.
Youd need some kind of scaler for that, like on the original Modulars.
so i ques than the answer on my first question is: the LP is not capable for this type of tuning (each note separately from the global tuning).
thanks for answering, EricK ![]()
p.s
i’m from croatia, and no one seams to like this little synth hear ![]()
everyone are like: " it sounds digital and plastic and i don’t no what "
i don’t get it.. little phatty is the dream come true for me. i bought some other keyboards later on ( even juno 60
), but this small monster is a perfection.
well, almost perfection ![]()

The LP can’t do non-12TET tunings on its own. But I do remember hearing about people using software that would let them do different tunings with fixed-tuning instruments. The way it works in theory is that you would have chain going from a MIDI controller (not the LP), to the software, to the tone generator (the LP in this case). What the software does is that it has a table attaching different MIDI pitch bend data to particular notes, and every time it receives that note it applies the pitch offset before sending it on. So the LP receives notes with set amounts of bend, and the result is that it plays the altered scale.
Unfortunately I wasn’t paying much attention when I saw that years ago, so I don’t know the name of the software or whether it’s still available. Hopefully someone else can give you more info.
P.S. Now that I think about it, you could probably do this using the LP as the MIDI controller if you set local control to off. That way the MIDI data would go from the LP, be filtered by the software, then routed back to control the LP in the altered form.
that is a very good idea ! thanks, narrowcaster!
the name of the software is Scala ![]()
and i ques i will have to bay a Yamaha dx7 somewhere in the future..
