transpose semitones??

First I’d like to say hello to everyone on the forum.
I’m on the edge to buy myself a moog after many years with different VA instuments that just did not moogify me enough to say “ok. this sounds pretty moog. i’m satisfied”
So here I am. trying to choose between the Voyager and the Little Phatty II.

And here’s my question - that may be final for what I choose.

Can’t find the answer to this anywhere - maybe because you can’t do it…

But is it possible to transpose semitones (+/- 1) at the time, not just octave +/-12?

Is this a feature on the Little Phatty II stage?
if not - is it a feature on the Voyager…?

You can use the CP251 and VX351 to rescale the Voyager keyboard, but it requires carefull adjusting of the knobs.
If you want to transpose a semitone up or down, I guess you could use a patch with only osc 2 and 3 and tune the osc up or down.
You could always use a midi controller that transposes and run a Voyager or RME. (if the LP has MIDI, then that would work there too. I don’t have one so I don’t know if it is MIDI equiped.)

ah.. that sucks…

well well.. I’ll think i just have to live with that then…

I thought maybe there were a “master tuning” section in the moogs where you could choose to transpose semitones…

Welcome aboard keyboardwizard!
On the Voyager Master Functions, there is a page where you can set the transpose in semitones -48 to +24.

PS: Drawback though, you have to set every time you power up, as it resets to 0.

See what happens when you upgrade the firmware and never go through all the menus! By golly, you can transpose by semitones! I was wrong and doing it the hard way. Guess I really am a Ludite!

You did not just say that. :open_mouth: The LP II not only has MIDI in and out, but it also has MIDI over USB. Also, the LP cannot transpose semitones. At least, not from a menu.

Welcome Keyboardwizard. I have been a fan of your videos.

love the youtube videos keyboard wizard (if youre the same person) you always give a broad sample of sounds. sorry i cant help with the transposing issue

“keybdwizrd” (on youtube) already has an LP, he has vids of them. This is just a wild coincidence…

Thanks for this answer! that is exactly what I was looking for..
That means I have to use three times as much on my new moog.. bah… :unamused:

Well well..

No harm done!

And to you others, i’m not “kbdwizard” the youtube guy.
that’s just a coincidence! :sunglasses:

FYI to all:

Get to know your Voyager! A reference chart listing every Voyager OS 3.4 menu command (PANEL, EDIT and MASTER modes) is available on KnobTweak. Download it here:

Gosh… I just bought myself a Voyager electric blue!

Can’t wait to pick it up in the weekend! :sunglasses:

Bet you don’t get much sleep this weekend!

Congrats on the new instrument!

Congrats man.

Thanks!

and yeah.. you were right.. got a couple of hours of sleep…

Let put it this way:

I don’t have to make a new post on this forum about
“my moog doesn’t sound good. what’s wrong?”

Havn’t tried the CV expander and my Moogerfooger yet…
But first i’m trying to understand the moog itself.. hehe :sunglasses:

You can truly go a few months before ever hooking up anything external and still make new discoveries while turning knobs. Then, when you start with external devices, you get to start all over again!
