Touchscreen Maintenance and panel bubbling

I was just wondering about the touchscreen. I know this has been brought up before about the surface area being one that is easy to scratch and thats hard to avoid if its used, but I was wondering how to maintain it.

I was thinking that using a microfibre cloth would help to remove accumulated finger oils. No solvents like eyeglass lens cleaner or anything right?

Now on the Select models, the panel obviously has to be made of a certian kind of transparent membrane so that the backlighting can shine through. Mine has some bubbling in certian spots like around the blue switches and around the red oscillator switches.

If something happens (the manual says don’t use if the panel is punctured) how much does it cost to replace? Has anyone else noticed this or is it just a humidity issue?

THanks,

Respectfully,
Eric

in all honesty Erick i use furniture polish,Mr sheen to be exact,i doubt it will damage anything,. and after 3 years mines just dandy - but feel free to delve deeper for more advice

I use a soft cotton cloth with a very small quantity of a solvent.

Mine has bubbling too, in 2-3 spots, but I wouldn’t worry. Besides if you ever send the Voyager back for callibration (does anyone know how often? maybe eevry 5years?) or whatever you can always tell them to check other stuff like bubbling, OS updates, mod and pitch wheel callibration, or whatever.

I am not sure whether or not it is a humidity problem - I think it wasn’t glued perfectly when shipped from Moog.

I have been using a small amout of kerosene on a die grinder with a stone wheel. I run it at about 2200 RPM for a fine finish. There is no identifying letters or numbers on anything. Come to think about it, there is nothing left of the synth itself…
