Time for a Buy/Sell/Trade section?

I propose a new section for members looking to buy or sell or trade.

It cuts down the noise in other sections. When a member uses the search engine for “voyager” or “phatty” or “mf-107” they don’t want to see the “for sale” threads in the query. There have been too many sellers signing up to post an ad and never contributing to the community. Unfortunately a new member was recently chased away because of the misplaced hostility. We don’t need that to happen again, and Moog just lost a potential customer.

I support this wholeheartedly. VintageSynth has a classifieds section in their forum dedicated to buy/sell/trade posts. It works really well there, so there’s no reason it wouldn’t work here.

I agree, the elektron forum is good for buying and selling, I bought my 104z there (before the announced M version) I am selling on it now :mrgreen:

I think it would better Moogs business, say if some one wants to upgrade to a voyager and they are selling their fatty, they might move the fatty quicker, get better money for it and buy the voyager sooner.

All of my favorite forums have for sale / trade sections, I think it makes it more of a community.

Yep - very interested in seeing a Buy/Sell/Trade section, here. That would be fun. Honestly, I’m more turned off to participating here by the squawking, than I am the occasional post from a seller - no offense to anyone in particular, I just hate that shit. A Buy/Sell/Trade section would hopefully cure all that, to the satisfaction of all.

I just wish a Moog Music Forum moderator would come here and tell us if this something that they would even consider implementing, or not.

Yeah, they don’t seem to very active in the community. I’d like to see that change sometime in the near future.

I think a few from Moog really do read through the forum more than we realize, but since they have gone to facebook, their participation in it has all but completely dropped off.

I would have thought that we here represent an exclusive group of returning customers who would get first word of the latest, but the fact of the matter is that they can simply reach far more people through facebook and twitter.

I really believe that Moogs marketing flourished a lot during Chris S. tenure in ways that they simply haven’t since his departure.

Not only that but, Moog Music could also use this new buy/sell/trade section to link to their products as well :bulb: Maybe for factory refurbished or unsold products as well as new ones :question: It would only be fair, since they’re hosting this forum at their expense.

I just wish we could get the opinion on that, from somebody at Moog !! Common ! There must be someone from the company reading this thread ?

What if the admins simply flagged a buy/sell thread as a sticky?
It would appear at the top of the subject listings and be first to seen by prospective buyers and sellers.
Could everyone live with one less vertical column of posts?
