The send/receive loop was a feature that really sparked my imagination when this pedal was first advertised. I’ve discovered some especially fun sounds with the effects loop on the 104z–especially with a second delay or a pitch bending effect (Rign Mod or EHX Hog). I would love to hear samples of what kinds of sounds the 106 is capable of producing with other effects in its signal path.
Oh–I’m already sold on one…just looking for some now sounds to keep me excited while I look for the sweetest deal.
I’m surprised that I haven’t seen many posting on youtube, etc. showcasing this bad boy. While the rest of us sit waiting patiently for our backordered 108s, let’s have you early birds do some more posting of the goodness to come!
Ok, here’s an offer… I have the next 2 evenings to myself (wife out of town on business) so I may be able to do something. I ran into a dead end last time I tried to do vide because my Sony camera (which I thought was high end when I bought it 2 yrs ago) doesn’t have audio out. So my only hope is to record via Logic at the same time as I record video then import the video and try and synch. Might be hopeless but I’ll give it a shot.
What do you want:
Midi clock sync with Drum beat
A particular synth sound played through either flange/chorus/kaos (if so what type of sound; see my gear list below, I have enough for synth basses, strings, etc).
More bad bass playing?
… or just a demonstration of the extremes of the knobs and settings and the affected sound?
Let me know and I’ll do something Tuesday night and post Wednesday.
Bass (or Guitar if you’ve got one). Put pick a couple of other Foogers/stomp boxes and let us hear what kinds of sounds you can get with the effects loop. I’d expecially like to hear these effects in the loop: ring mod, delay, anything that does pitch shifting (i.e., Whammy, Pog, or Hog). Not looking for any specific sounds–just hope you will share examples of the new sounds you discover. Thanks!
ahoy hoy. some early experiments with my MF-108M, also featuring MF-104SD.
for my live electronica/dub set I had a ‘dub siren’ section ready to go. I now realised that with the MF-108 self oscilating, it makes a great analog dub siren.
I’ve had my ClusterFlux for nearly a month, and I’m absolutely elated. It does what few choruses can aspire to do: complement the Roland Jazz Chorus. If I had a Strymon Ola, I’d have to take Dramamine before plugging in my Moog, Ola, and an Electro-Harmonix Stereo Polychorus into my Jazz Chorus. It would be the last word in chorus, and that is a frightening prospect.
Before I got the 108, I had the 101,102,104 and 107. These produced a little bit of noise that really annoyed me.
Now, when there is no doubt much more noise, Im actually a little relieved. Its like I dont have to worry about it anymore.
Whenever I pay attention to the noise, I smile and think “Its part of my sound now. It needs to be there”..
I don’t know about that… I just got mine today. I thought my 101 was noisy. The Flux is probably the single noisiest piece of equipment I have ever used.
Voyager EB > 108M > MF-104SD with 108 at extreme feedback and oscillator speed and amount settings gave equally gratifying results. Self-oscillation combined with manually twisting the delay time knob does really fat pitch shifting.
Not noticing any extra noise through either set up.
