Am I the only non-smoker who likes the smell of cigarettes?

Looks like it. I can’t stand the smell since I quit. And I NEVER liked the smell of stale smoke.

i own a industrial grade ozone unit (20-30 times stronger than the residentual ones a lot of people have) that will remove any stench of cigaratee smoke (and life, bacteria, and Humans for that manner)


i worry about the buildup on the circuit boards… electronics/ electrostatic fields attract all the tar and nastiness…

Smell and stains aside I’ve read that exposing electronics to a smokey environment will cause a build up of tar and gunk that can degrade components and solder joints over time. It also clogs vents and can result in heat issues. Though not being an electrical engineer I don’t know how much truth there is to it…

This is somewhat true. What can happen, and what I’ve personally seen, is that tar builds up and causes shorts. Alcohol and a soft cloth will remove most of that to the point you can clean between components with a Q-tip or twenty. Aside from smoke, dust can also clog vents, and cover heatsinks, resulting in a fire hazard and/or failed components due to a buildup of heat. In other words, anything that will get into electronics needs to be removed periodically from the electronics.
