Thicker back panels now?

I just noticed this morning, that the last MF I bought (Lowpass Filter) has a thicker back piece (.062" maybe?). It must be at least twice as thick as my other ones, very nice and sturdy.

I remember people before complaining that the backs were a bit flimsy or felt cheap. I am racking mine, so it never bothered me. It is nice to see a company that responds to feedback and improves their products!

Mine were all purchased last year, and are quite solid. I had no idea they were flimsy before. Interesting.

Back panel, bottom panel all depends on how your looking at it  .

I think it’s just in the past year or so they’ve switched. All of my MoogerFoogers except the MF107 have the “flimsy” metal. It’s never bothered me since it does not affect the jacks at all, but it is nice to see a more “soild feel”. The first MoogerFooger I bought was the CP251 back in December of 2002 ( has Big Briar sticker on the back ) about two months after buying the Voyager and the VX 351 (picked it up right when it came out) have a back panel about the same thickness.

Now if the jack panel was flimsy that is another story, but it’s always been soild .

Again, no complaints of flimsy bottom/back panels here! All my 'Foogers are quite solid.

All of the ones that Ive bought have been rock solid, and I think I got my first in 2004.

Eric

I am picking up my delay from UPS tomorrow and I can double check this theory. It is the signature edition though, so I wonder if it has an older back plate? I can’t wait to unleash this analog delay beast!

My Magic-6 MFs have thin panels

I wouldn’t worry about it

I love the delay, I think it really brings out the Moog. Its so warm. I want to have a voltage controlled reverb and a voltage controlled phaser to go with it though lol.

Your Rogue will sound great through it. Though I haven’t run anything through it that has sounded bad.

I honestly don’t use my Rogue that often. I tend to gravitate to the Moogerfooger Rack, the MS-20, Arp Odyssey or Juno 60 more often.

I sent the Rogue in to get cleaned/fixed up and when I finally tracked the guy down (he moved and didn’t tell me) and picked it up, it was in worse shape.

I should sit down and really see how bad it is. Seems to me it was missing the second VCO and the envelope wasn’t working correctly. That repair guy lost 2 of my slider caps too. I had just bought 2 to replace the missing ones.

I would use it way more if I can mod it to add more modular goodness to it. I will probably sell it to a good home otherwise.

My Delay came with a thicker back panel too. The feet are also different on the newer ones. They are smaller and more rounded, but tighter to the screw. Not complaining just pointing out design changes.

Damn, man! Can you go after this guy? :open_mouth:

I don’t feel the need to go after him. But I do know most of the people that could keep him busy in my area and I told them all to steer clear.

I take some responsibility. I should have went with someone that people I know recommended instead.

That’s worse than going after him, I think.

Is your second VFO just no longer working, or did he actually rip components out of the circuit?

I called the guy and laid it all out for him. He said he wanted to fix it and make it right with me. I was willing to let him, but then he stopped answering and returning my calls. I opted for the more painful option to his business because of how he treated me.

As for the VCO, I am too distracted by my Fooger Beast at the moment to even look at it. I will check it and post in a while. I don’t want to rush it and miss something.
