The UK V3 board rip off!

Let me get this straight.

In the US it’s $225 (around £130). Is that right!?

Turnkey (the UK retailer) want £250 for the upgrade board!!!

£250 for an extra few banks of sounds!?!?!? I’m only using about 20 slots on mine at the minute.

Unless there’s a really impressive new feature on the way for V3.x, I think I’ll leave it!

Ah - another thread on here mentions $225, I just checked the parent site for this forum, it’s $325, not $225

It’s $325 if you have Moog Music do it (ship 'em the Voyager, they do the install & return your unit).

It’ll be a do-it-yourself kit after Oct 1, 2005, priced at $225.

OK - I’d better hope that Turnkey do better than the £250 then.

I’m a bit worried that this is a pre-order price - they do seem to advertise kit before it’s actually available.

Yes, this very much does suck.. Anyway you look at it, its expensive:

  1. its the current $325 Moog price which equates to £176
  2. its the future self install kit $225 Moog price which equates to £122

Looks like we will have to wait for some to visit the US.. I dont mind paying £122 but not no way £250..

Gents -

Perhaps I’m speaking without a full appreciation of doing business overseas, but couldn’t you place an order with a music store in the US and have it shipped to you?

In a word: Yes. That’s exactly what I’ll be doing when the time comes.

I think I’ll see what Turnkey do, but yeah - I’ll order in America. Actually - I’m probably working out there again soon…

I wont order from the US as import duties and tax are a pain. Besides, every few months you know someone who is making the trip and I presume it will be a very small package..

I am also watching what Turnkey do. Im really hoping that once the kit is released their price will be a bit more sensible..

Actually, they aren’t. The courier deals with these and all you have to do is reimburse them. It’s that simple. I imported my Voyager from the US and nothing could have been more painless.
