I power up my source and it has AC and lights but no sound.
Is there a firmware reboot combination of keys that will “clear itself” out?
It’s seems to be sort of a logic problem …like it caught in an odd loop or soemthing…also a hint is that it has two little LEDS lit up beadie the program numer display above the data wheel.
Any thoughts?
Really appreicate your help in troub le shooting this guy.
Can you change programs and make the LED roll one through sixteen? That tells you the CPU is alive.
A likely culprit of CPU foibles is the “crazy Source” problem. This is caused by oxidizing connectors on the pass transistors in the power supply. The fix is to discard the connectors and solder the transistors right to the power supply board. Not a job for the novice.
If the CPU is OK, then there is a problem with the audio chain. This isn’t something that can be easily fixed in an internet forum, you’ll need a good tech.
I had the same problem - power up but no sound. This was my fix:
2 E-402 dual N-Channel FET ($35.82 cdn)
1 Moog Stock IC-DIG. SW. PROC. ($29.63 cdn)
2 assorted (Hi Temp) capacitor - filter ($23.25 cdn)
The source is so pretty. It’s something you can only get in person. I saw the Zom Zoms</a](http://www.myspace.com/zomzoms">Zoms</a)> last night, and they had one (as well as a Rogue, SH-101, and SH-2) and it was beautiful. You should check them out - very spastic and dischordant.
