I believe that there are at least three types of people who use Moogs. The first type is, of course the musician.
The second type is the sound engineer, who doesn’t necessarily make music, but rather sound effects and avant-garde stylings.
The third type is the audio tinkerer, who, like myself, has no musical training but is able to use his ears to make musical arrangements, while designing and/or building devices and/or circuits to enhance his art. What do you think? Just curious…
Interesting…more than 3 types of Moogers seems to be the most popular. Will someone fill me in on the other types? I seem to have been left out of the loop, here.
I’m touched…thank you! I feel like I’ve heard that piece somewhere before. Perhaps not, though. Very cryptic…like most of the other songs I’ve heard from you.
i would have to agree with voltor’s 3 types unless you split off musicians into the million different types of music moogers are used in, noise rockers, synth poppers, space funkers, hip hoppers, etc etc
There is also the group of teachers in electronic music departments of universities who use the Moog cause they have had it for 40 years.
There are also people who use synths like these simply to process the recorded sounds of other musicians in studio settings.
And then you have the rich celebrities who buy up everything so theres little left in the market…just because they have the money and are usually the same people who have owned 14 Prodigys and 6 Model D’s and destroyed them all.
Then you have the Museum Curators who seek them out and afficianados who will be happy with a broken unit.
And theres the guy who is an artist and has posted here and on moogarchives who wants to buy your broken gear so he can build this sculpture (Id love to see it when he’s done).
