the MuRF with a Stick

 Hello, been thinking about possibly picking up a MuRF for my Chapman Stick. It has a 2 bass tuning. The strings range from .128RW(B) to .020RW(D#). If your curious about the tuning check it out here. http://www.stick.com/instruments/tunings/10/dbr/

I have a couple questions for anybody out there.

  1. Any Stickist (or other tappers) out there that have tried or use a MuRF?

  2. Considering the range do you recommend the MF-105M MIDI MuRF or the MF-105B?

Thanks and TONS of information here!

I’m not a stickist (very cool instrument, BTW…) but I can say that the Midi Murf would be the better value as you get the freq. range of both the standard Murf and the Bass Murf, and you also get the added feature of Midi control on top of that!

IMHO, I would recommend that you get the Midi Murf, it’s the more flexible and complete solution.

Thanks for responding,

Thanks I’ve been really and happy with it.

:stuck_out_tongue: I don’t know if I need even more cables and pedals added to my “Tesla Coil” rig. LOL

Thats what I was thinking about. Even though it is (by Stick standards) bass on both sides, half of my strings (Outer 2 on the ascending 5ths and the outer 3 on the descending 4ths )are the same guage (similar range) as the roundwound 4,5 and 6 strings of a guitar.

Thanks again,

Let us know how you make out.
