The Lamb Lies Down.....What Was I Hearing?

I just read the thread about hearing the Taurus live for the first time.

Riddle me this…In 1975 I saw Genesis performing The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway and needless to say it was a life altering moment for me. It completly changed my whole approach to music. This was the fist time I had EVER experienced bass frequencies on such an insane level. What was I hearing??? For years I had always thought it was the T1 but that would have been impossible given the year. Plus, soon after seeing The Lamb…I bought every Genesis LP, EP, etc I could find and again that bass was present.

From what I understand, this was something called Mr. Bass or something like that.
Can anyone tell me more about what exactly that unit was and how it worked?

If you’ve got a copy of The Lamb…Listen to “Fly On A Windshield”. Sure does sound like pedals even though it’s not…

is this the same unit Rutherford used on the Foxtrot album and Genesis Live, too?
