The final fooger (diddleeedeee)

Now I have finally acquired a 104M I have the full range - well, I don’t have a non-midi murf, but I don’t really need one.

My impression is that the 104 is extremely versatile and that it will take me quite a while to get to grips with its possibilities (I mainly use the foogers by themselves to create wierdness as a self-contained synth, and sometimes with my LP w/CV, occasionally with guitar.) Having read the manual I’m trawling the forum for patching tips. I’d be grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction if they know about any especially useful threads. Thanks

Hi deadhedgehog,

Try as many different FX pedals and audio paths as you can in the FEEDBACK loop via an insert cable:

1/4" TRS Male to (2) 1/4" TS Male

It never gets old

Be sure to check out the MIDI Note function, and use the slew rate CC to dial in some very interesting and musical results.

I use an EB as the sound source and an MPK-49 as the CC controller for the 104MSD, matrixed through a MIDIsport 8x8 via MIDI-OX.

If you play guitar I would also suggest using the ENV out CV on a 101 to control Time or Feedback on the 104M.

Thanks for useful tips! I haven’t been using much midi, so that’s a whole new area, but the insert cable gives great results. I have noticed that delays can sort of “take over” a bit, so like strong spices they should be used with discretion, but the short settings with time on smooth random give some musical results.
