Teething issues LP VST Editor

Ok so I am using Cubase SX3 as recomended and on the whole so far no problems . However upon reading the manual I get to a section that descirbes how to send a patch from the LP to the editor.
The following is writen.

"How to load a Little Phatty patch into the editor:
Once you have completed the MIDI input steps above, you can now receive a ā€˜Single Controller Dump’ from the Little Phatty to ā€˜recreate’ the patch in the editor. Here’s how:

  1. Select the patch on the Little Phatty that you wish to save into the editor.
  2. The editor will update all parameters to the values of the dumped patch.
    2. Press the ā€˜Shift+Dump One’ button.
  3. Rename the patch in the editor to the name of the hardware patch. Save the patch as an .fxp
    file."

I am having a really hard time finding this ā€œShift+Dump Oneā€ button.
Can someone who knows please let me know where it is or what this action actually means as I am really stumped and begining to feel that either I am actually one sandwich short of a picknick or perhaps the manual needs a slight edit.
Thanks in advance for your help
Nick

I suspect it’s the manual that is in need of help.

There should be a ā€œget patchā€ button on the VST GUI (just below the patch name) - try clicking this and see if it gets all your parameters.

Another thing to remember, is that you might want to disable
ā€œsend program changeā€ from the Editor, so that you can change programs on the editor WITHOUT changing which preset the Little Phatty is on. I find this helpful at times.
Similarly, when you change presets on the Phatty, you might want to un-tick the box for ā€œsend MIDIā€ on the VST Editor briefly, so that it doesn’t send all default controller values to the LP on loading a new preset in the Editor, before you’ve done a ā€œget patchā€ to load the Editor with your actual LP parameters.

There are a few little tricks like this with the sending and receiving options in the Editor that I had to sort out before everything was super-smooth. Let me know if this is helpful.

Cheers,

Amos

NOTE:

You have to have OS 2.2 on your Little Phatty in order for the ā€œGet Patchā€ function to work. This function of the VST Editor sends a special command to the Little Phatty, which is only defined in LP firmware v2.2. If anyone is having trouble using Get Patch in the VST LP Editor, this is the likeliest reason why.

Cheers,

Amos
