TE with SEII keyboard?

Hi

I just noticed a chipped key bottom on my LP, also the keyboard has gone yellow through the years.
I’m thinking about replacing the keyboard. Found one here:
http://www.instrumentalparts.com/moog-parts.html

Two questions:

  1. has anyone done this type of swap by themselves? is it hard (for someone who has been able to replace a superdrive in his macbook, that took some screwing around  is there any calibration requiring specialised service equipement?

  2. is it possible to replace the Tribute Edition keyboard with a Stage Edition keys? (heard those are better quality?)

Call Moog Tech support and speak with Andy.

I spoke to him last week about picking up a new LHC for my Tribute and also discussed the quality of new (Stage implied) keyboards vs. the original (the type that as you mentioned, tends to yellow).

For me, a high end Fatar would be well worth the money but I haven’t gotten that far. Based on my understanding, a news Stage kbd from Moog is a) better than what we have and b) compatible with the Tribute platform.
