I personally bought the Tribute Edition BECAUSE it was the Tribute Edition. If i had only cared about the insides I would have waited. Everyone has their own reasons for a particular purchase. IMO the retro look is an integral part of the MOOG history and product line. OK theres my 2 cents worth…I LOVE this thing and am consider myself very fortunate to have obtained one. I will be leaving it to my children someday and through that they will have a connection to Bob’s incredible contribution to music history. Thank you sooo much MOOG for the memory of Bob immortalized in this synth 
The insides are identical more or less.. It has been mentioned numerous times that the update is only software, which will be avaiable for free for the tribute edition.
Relax, you got the best looking edition by far.
