Hey,
I was on preset B3, trying to learn to manipulate the various parameters. I had adjusted the Osc Mix amount, Octave, Freq and Beat Freq. I then switched to the Filter amount and then the attack when the unit froze.

LOL! Bass fail!
I actually got bass fail on video…so I feel ya. The problem was fixed with the Beta upgrade…at least, I haven’t encountered any bass fail since I installed it. ![]()
I can confirm a freeze. Different scenario though. I was controlling from a keyboard via Cubase/MIDI and was whizzing through the presets using the Taurus knob, but playing from my keyboard. I was only using mod wheel - no editing and it suddenly froze.
Perhaps Amos could assign two buttons that you can press together as a ‘Panic’ reset for live work - would hate to kill the audience with an infinite drone.
I’m running FW V1.11 (can’t run 1.12 because of bizarre tuning issues) I have discovered that my Taurus will freeze up & drone on the arp patches simply by rolling the footwheel down to the “stop” setting . This only occurs when accessing the patch via the encoder knob, with the arp already running from the previous patch. If you press the “bank” & then any of the 4 preset buttons, it does not appear to lock up - perhaps because the arp was not already running when the patch was called up?
I couldn’t be sure at the time if the yellow lights were for the upper and the amber was for the lower, I thought I was adjusting the filter, nothing happened, so it probably was the arp I was adjusting when the thing froze.
I had rolled wheel down all the way and was holding a key down the whole time I was adjusting everything.
I had another freeze with the Arp running, the latest (that ive seen posted) os installed.
Just thought Id pas the word along about this particular OS.

MORE bass fail? Hmm…interesting. I haven’t had any problems, but I’m probably doing it wrong. ![]()

YES!
I’ve been playing around with a Sonnus B2M pitch-to-MIDI box. More than several times a note got stuck on. At this point, unless I’m missing something, the ‘Panic’ reset is the on/off switch.
And another vote for MIDI Start/Stop message recognition to start/stop the arpegiator when externally clocked - I’m using the RC-50.
Excellent thread; thanks guys!
Duly noted on the MIDI start and stop… oddly enough I took those out of the Taurus due to complaints about requiring MIDI Start and Stop on the MIDI MuRF. I’ll see if I can figure out a nice way for both products to recognize BUT not require MIDI Start and Stop.
Also, yes I will put a “panic” reset button-combo in there… and look very carefully for freeze/lockup conditions, as there still seem to be a couple of them in there, as you have found.
Taurus development has been on hold for a few weeks while one of our programmers was in California… I have been working on some other projects in the meanwhile, but I am about to dive back into Taurus. Thanks to all of you for your patience and support. The Taurus will only continue to get better…

Man Amos, I think you need to clone yourself…you have a buffet of plates full these days.
Oh goodie I was waiting for the MIDI program change bug to get fixed!!!
