Hi,
I got a Bass MuRF and just got the FS1 switch to do tap tempo.
In the manual it says that it would relate to being double tempo but I find this not the case it’s 1-1.
Does anybody else have this issue or is it just me?
Cheers

Welcome to the forums, xgsjx!
To answer your question, unless something has changed, the tempo should be twice the frequency of your taps, not 1:1.
Try setting the Envelope knob to a short decay (a setting around ‘2’ or less), set the Mix knob to ‘10’, push all of the sliders to maximum, and feed the MuRF a constant signal. This will make it easier to hear how the MuRF is responding to your taps. With this setup you should be able to quickly discern a 2:1 ratio (i.e. the pattern rate is twice the frequency of your taps), which means your Bass MuRF is working correctly.
Hope this helps.
Cheers back atcha!
Thanks for the welcome.
I’ve tried as you suggest & using pattern 11B with Envelope at @ 2 & the Mix to 10 I find that as it’s a 16ths pattern I have to tap the 8ths to get it to play a 4/4 in 16th notes. Or if I use pattern 10B when I tap a tempo the 110hz would land on each 1st & 3rd. Is this correct?
I tried matching it just using the Rate knob & the red led is the same as the green in speed for the same tempo.
Thanks again,
G
If I understand you correctly, you’re tapping 8th notes to get a 16th note pattern going, which means that the MuRF tempo is twice as fast as the tap frequency (i.e. a 2:1 ratio). This would be the correct operation.
I’d suggest ignoring the lights and use your ears instead. I find setting the Envelope knob initially to ‘2’ (or less) is helpful to hear what’s going on and establish the tempo. Once set, you can adjust the Envelope to the desired setting.
Hope this was helpful.
Thanks G,
So the 2:1 ratio is against the 16th notes, that makes sense.
Sorry to be a pest but do you know if there is a way to double this up, ie 4:1 ratio?
Cheers,
G
Can’t help you out, I haven’t tapped a tempo into mine since I started using the other half of that same jack (the step-advance feature). That is way more fun for me with the music I am making I guess.
Nope - it is what it is.
Thanks, that’s cool.
Was just curious.
