Synths you use besides the Voyager.

A thread to list the synths used besides the Voyager.

For me:
Waldorf Q Plus
Future Retro 777
Clavia Nord G2 Engine
Waldorf MicroWave XT

Besides the Voyager… (in order of use)

Hartmann Neuron
Doepfer/Analogue Solutions/Wiard modules
Korg MS-20 (my first synth; bought in 1980, after working all summer…)
Buchla/Nearfield Marimba Lumina
Korg MS-2000R
Nord Micro Modular
Doepfer 404
Technosaurus Microdon/Cyclodon

And as far as software…

Reaktor 4
Moog Modular V 2.0
Reason 2.5
Da Hornet (Wasp emulation)
Le Synthe (VCS 3 emulation)

I used to have a Pro-One (bought new in '81), but sold it after Katrina… Kinda regret it, now that we’re moving back to New Orleans…

-andrew bunny

Rhodes Chroma, MS-20

Access Music Virus TI (keyboard version)
Clavia nord electro 2 73
Clavia nord lead 3
DSI MEK
DSI Prophet '08
Korg Poly 61
Yamaha DX7

I’m very happy with this setup…it’s taken years to get here but it really complements my style well. The Korg Poly 61 is in the mix since it was my first synthesizer back in the mid 80’s…how can you not have your first?

Voyager
Moog Liberation
Oberheim Ob-Xa
Yamaha Motif ES
Kurzweil K2500
Just got a Roland SH-201
Yamaha VL70m

We also have a Memory Moog, Arp 2600, Waldorf XT, etc.

Reason, GPO, Stylus, Trilogy, MX4, BFD

Joseph Akins

Several, but especially the Arturia softsynths and the Roland V-synth XT.

The Arturia synths are brilliant when you get into programming them properly and if you ignore all the garbage from people who moan about minor bugs or who complain about whether they’re as accurate as they could be. Treat them as real instruments and they’ll respond like any really good synth.

The Roland’s brilliant once you ditch all the crap among the patches they supply, and you create your own waveforms.

Hardware:
Moog Voyager AE
Dave Smith Evolver

Software:
NI Absynth 3
NI PRO-53

In the studio I use a M-Audio keyboard MIDI controller. Live I use a MOOG Etherwave Theremin and a Roland HandSonic HPD-15 as MIDI controllers. Soon I will be adding the Eowave Persephone for studio and live use.

That’s it (for now). I want to take the time to learn how to best use all of this stuff. The learning curve gets longer all the time!

Nothing so grand I’m afraid, but my keyboards are listed in my signature below!
Pete.

I know a ROMpler isn’t exactly a synth, but what I use most:

Voyager
DSI Polyevolver
Virus
E-Mu Turbophatt
Triton
Matrix 6R

I have a lot of other ones hard and soft, but I use these the most right now.

It’s in my sig but…

Alesis Andromeda - pads and spacey noises
Kurzweil K2600RS - drums and acoustic instruments
Little Phatty - leads
Voyager RME - bass and leads
Midibox SID - random noises

Voyager AE
Korg Radias
Mini D
Jupiter 8
EMU Classic Keys
I pared down big time this past year.

Hey people I’m new by the way (incase you hadn’t guessed)

Little Phatty Stage-what I take to gigs
Sequentil Circuits Prophet 600-For funky ass polyphonic shit
Roland Juno 6-for arppegiation and pads-also good for bass sounds that are different than moogs bass
ARP String Ensemble-the classic
also using a fender rhodes, wurlitzer 200a (in the shop right now-makes me very sad), and a hohner D6 clavinet
what’s missing: a freaking B3 that’s what!!! (probably gonna have to settle for a nord electro-although I tried the nord stage and it’s an awesome board!)

Hardware

MidiBox SID (4)
Kyma Capybara 320 ( just sold ;-( wish they would update the hardware & will a new one )

Software

Moog Voy Signature (w/ all the upgrades),
Minimoog Model D,
Arp Odyssey w/Lil Brother (added for the third Oscilator)
The obligatory Juno 106,

All the Moogers (incl. SD Delay and original Delay), currently creating a modular Synth of my dreams with a JamMan Looper st the end of the chain.

Not too much at the time. Just:

Machinedrum
TG-33 (rarely used, for sale actually)
x0xbox
Commodore 64 w/Prophet 64

The voyager does most everything I need really. I’m going to build a midibox sid 4x (or 8x?) soon. Had a sidstation, but sold it.

I’d like to build a doepfer modular rig or similar, but that will come in time. A CV sequencer or two would be pretty nice too.

Voyager RME
Alesis QS8
Novation X-Station 48
Roland SH-1000
Hobart Cable piano (1926)
Cornish organ (1899)

Sorry to have sold when I needed the cash:

Dyno-My-Piano Rhodes (I used to work in that shop)
Oberheim FVS-4
RMI Electra-Piano
