Is the minimoog voyager capable of this yet? I want to have my sequencer (Nuendo 2) send midi time data to the minimoog so I can have the LFO sync to the beat. I know there is a midi setting on the switch below the LFO knob but it doesnt seem to work. I remember calling moog and them saying that it wasn’t a function that was possible with the current OS but that it would be implemented at some point. Is this capable with the newest OS or is there something I am just not doing right?

I’m very interested in this as well. And, I think it’s present in OS Version 1.5.

MIDI Clock retriggers LFO (LFO sync switch). When the LFO SYNC switch is set
to “MIDI”, a MIDI clock signal retriggers the start of the LFO cycle. Because
the Voyager has an analog LFO . the LFO Rate itself is not automatically set
to the clock frequency . just the start of the LFO cycle. Adjusting the LFO
Rate to a different rate relative to the MIDI clock signal can yield some
interesting LFO patterns.
I just updated my system, so you can bet I’ll be experimenting with this in the next few days. 
I’ll post my findings, but it sounds cool.

The current OS has the LFO MIDI sync feature.
When the LFO Sync switch is set to “MIDI”, a MIDI clock signal restarts the beginning of the LFO cycle.
It’s not what you would expect if you are used to digital (blech) synths - and their homogenous enslavement to MIDI clocks.
It’s cool because the LFO is running at the frequency set by the RATE control - so you can control how fast the LFO changes in relation to the MIDI clock rate. You can get unusual rhythmic patterns or asymmetrical LFO waveforms by playing with the rate control.
In addition there is a Clock Divider function that can be saved for each preset. The range of values are from 2 - 96, where 96 equals two counts of the clock, 48 = 1 count, 24 = 1/2 count, etc…
It gets pretty deep…

It’s definable on a per ptch basis. So, pick a patch to work with and press EDIT. Scroll until you find “LFO Clock Divider”. Press ENTER.
You can set the divider using the +1/-1 keys. Press ENTER to save the new setting and exit the menu selection.
how do i sync the lfo to midi, exactly.
my question is how do i send midi clock data to the mini from my DAW. using logic, protools, etc. (i am using logic 5 if that helps anyone)
is it a specific cc# or what?

just “send midi clock”… voyager will sense it if the patch is wired to do so. then get into the menu where the clock divider lies and mess with the settings til you find what you like.

It’s got LFO Waveform Synchronization with 13 different waveforms and Analog Sequencer Control: Clock output 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 2/4 or 4/4 notes. Triplets selectable.
I would like to combine the CV-5 with Synthesizers.com’s Q119 analog sequncer http://www.synthesizers.com/q119.html and synch them up with vsts on Cubase. Any thoughts?
I just checked the JKJ specs, the LFO sync is no better than Voyager. Both have reset via MIDI but they will not sync to MIDI clock, they are both analog LFOs. You need a digital square wave LFO whose period is directly related to a division of MIDI Clock, an analog LFO can’t do that.
The CV5 would be overkill for driving the Q119, all you need is a square or pulse wave generator.
i like the MIDI sync and am satisfied with.

i am using dp4 and have setup to transmit sync to voyager for midi lfo select, when dp loops there is something that “offs” voyager. the key stops completely.

i have found the answer to my question. i am required to choose an iac driver when transmitting sync, so the port selected is iac(not 1x1 - the port Voyager is actually connected to), i don’t know why but everything works fine and no error message when reopening program. lfo sync works great. and another thing i noticed when working with dp4, the first note must be set at 001 so if start point is 1/1/000 the note must be at 1/1/001 or when/if looped the first note will not play.
