Not sure at all about the measured levels but what I know for sure is that analog is kind of noisy: my first guess is that what you hear is the VCA letting the “electronics breath” go. I’ve observed that on a Little Phatty.
The fact the level peaks at -42dB and gets back to -60dB may be related to the decay and sustain values of the VCA envelope. Try different settings, even for attack, and you might be able to hear the noise reflect the envelope configuration.
Anyone, prove me wrong.
Now, this can be tamed a lot by… increasing sources volume, and, in the case of a sub bass patch, lowering the filter cut off frequency.
Hope this helps.
Well, I don’t mean to tell you what’s a problem and what’s not a problem, but I guess the Moog is made like this and I guess there is no proper solution.
I understand that when you noticed it the first time, it’s hard to listen to anything else, but my question is: is it a problem in your music once mixed etc?
Only you have this answer.
