Sub37 Backup Preset Sysex dump size

Hi,

Quick question, what’s the average preset dump size of the Sub 37?
Sysex Librarian (in my case) halted after 199KB of sending by the sub37, is that all?

I think the entire factory preset file for the 37 is approx 399KB!

On a related note, I noticed different sizes on subsequent attempts to download a full bulkdump: ranging from 200kb up to 1.6Mb - the size of the dump being different each time. Is this normal behaviour? And what is the normal size of a full dump?

An ALL PRESETS dump shows as 204 KB on my Mac.

(It says 199 KB received, but then grows to 204 KB when I see it in a folder.)

Data size and ‘size on disk’ are not necessarily equal, since file systems use allocation units to store files. :slight_smile:

Thanks! Indeed i was referring to the 199KB as shown by Sysex Librarian.
I did a second dump and watched the blinking of the midi light on the sub37, it stops blinking exactly on 199KB.
So I assume backup has gone well now, time for beta firmware install :slight_smile:

On Sysex Librarian, from a Firmware v1.0.13 (don’t know if this has an influence though),

full presets dump is shown with 203800 bytes
one preset is 756 bytes (precisely that for each of the four presets I dumped).

Even better than assuming:

Change one letter of one Preset and save it. (Like INIT PRESET to ONIT PRESET)

Then send the ALL PRESETS dump back to the Sub 37.

If that preset location is called INIT PRESET again, you know you successfully saved.
