Sub 37 Unresponsive

After successful completion of the firmware update, I opened the editor-- looks cool! Upon being prompted to sync all the presets, I did so, then noticed that the firmware updater had begun phase 2 of the firmware update a second time for some reason! After it completed, the Sub 37 was unresponsive. I have closed the editor and am running the firmware update again to see if the unit will come back to life. As of now, all the LEDs are on, but the LCD screen is blank-- no update status is being displayed.

From reading situations like this in other posts, both here and in the Phatty forum,
I think the recommendation is to start over:

  • power off the Sub37
  • set the knobs appropriately
  • turn up the pitch-wheel
  • power on
  • start the firmware update all over
  • and be patient

As I recall, the Sub37 is comatose during part of the FW update,
but the updater program should be showing you some kind of status.

Good luck!

Hi,

Mike is correct. You probably haven’t had the update completed before trying to use the Editor.

There’s new version available, please let us know how it works for you:

one thing I’ve noticed, at times when I needed to start a firmware update from a state where there was not good firmware already on the unit:
sometimes I needed to turn the Sub 37 power off/on a couple times, while USB was connected, before the updater would “notice” that the hardware was connected and started its routine. Once it got started from this point it’s always run to completion for me, the last few versions.

Thanks guys. I had to run the updater a couple more times but eventually it worked.

Thanks for the update !
