Just got the pre-release Editor and installed with no problems.
The Firmware updater is working also fine without any problems.
I run it under windows 7. All was just a Simple act and runs awesome.
So I can say, I am very happy with this Pre-release.
Happy about the Led dimming. Happy about the lovely layout.
Thanks Moog and Amos and all the beta testers for this beauty.
Wish you all the best And now I gonna Explore this wonderfully Editor.
Wait⦠are you saying that the new firmware has user selectable LED dimming?
Are there any other cool firmware feature updates apart from stuff to support the editor?
Are any of these fixed?
(Edit: added underlining to URL - would be nice if the boardās CSS is altered to highlight URLs)
Nice one! Iāll let the most editor-yearning users to the head of the queue and read their reports for now, not swamping Moog with too many pre-release requests
I install today the Sub 37 pre-release Editor 0.9.25 in Apple-OS.
Everything went fine. No problems I have found on the moment. All smooth going.
In Logic there where also no problems. All seems to be OK with this pre-release.
I did not try the Firmware update to version 1.1.13, course I updated this already in my Windows 7.
In any wayā¦All seems to be OK with this pre-releaseā¦
So lets test this release and find the bugs what the Beta tester has not foundā¦
Wish you all a lucky time and be happy with this expected long Editor.
Iām loving the workflow for patch creation with the editor. Things that Iām finding really useful for patch creation:
Being able to see clock divisions for the LFOs in the editor as theyāre changed on the sub 37
easily see/set clock divs for the env sync
Access to normally deep menu items like attack curve type
Being able to set the shifted envelope parameters (delay/hold/vel amt/kb track) without having to knock the knobs out of sync for their primary ADSR values, meaning the editor actually helps the patch remain true to the physical knob values
Also really liking the RANDOM PRESET option, which randomizes parameters and creates some very interesting soundscapes and patch starting points
The librarian works really nicely - instant store/recall of patches has made a world of difference to organising my various presets - and Iām recording more variations than I would just through the hardware itself.
Please post a few screen shots of the editor while we anxiously wait for Amosā reply email. Thank you.
I would happily do so, but with Amos not making the link public and not posting any screenshots of it himself as far as Iām aware, I donāt feel comfortable posting screenshots.
I am also sorry to post screen shots from the Editor, Would like but like Paul_sub37 says, I donāt feel not comfortable about that.
When Amos want to show screen shots from the Editor, he has already done that, course Amos can be really proud of this beautiful work.
Take it easy, it will come minuteman
So the next I want to share, ,
The install from the Editor 0.9.25 and the New Firmware, I did this all with a USB connection.
So all is working very nicely,
Today I wanted to try the Editor with a MIDI connection. (so no USB connection only MIDI)..And it is working also very fine.. butā¦butā¦but
When I go inside the Librarian, I can only hear the factory hardware presets.
When I click inside my user presets, there is no reaction from the Sub37.
OK when I switch back to USB, It is working fine and can switch between them all.
Ok this is a Pre -release and I am sure they are working on it.
The editor needs a computer to run on, so it seems logical that theyād assume the user has a usb connection - especially as usb allows for much faster data throughput.
There are many people they do not like Synthesizers connected with USB to a computer. (like me). USB connection can be fast but can make high-pitched buzzy noise in the audio system what is just disturbing the whole recording known as ground loop noise.
Of course you can buy lots of different hardware bla bla bla to get rid of this noisy problemā¦But Midi should work fine with this editor. Is also fast enough for our purpose.
So I made just a test to run the editor with just a simple MIDI connection to my Computer. And ALL is working ..thanks to Moog..Only the Librarian user preset is not working.
The editor is also design for MIDI and USB. So both we can use.
It was just a little test to make sure that the editor is working with MIDI.
Hey can someone using the new firmware comment on new features?
Iāve not seen anything new in the firmware with regards to stand-alone features - I think itās more about providing the necessary compatibility with the editor.
The firmware changelog doesnāt have any entries for 1.1.13
Hi all, I have the new editor and Firmware and so far I think it is great. I have one problem and that is, how do you set up the VST editor to work in Ableton Live 9.5, it`s baffling me? Many thanks Glyn.
