I wonder how far along the Sub 37 is in development? Will it have wood sides? CV out? Aftertouch? What other things would you like to see implemented in this paraphonic wonder?

I would like 3 voices.

I would like the Pitch CV and Filter CV input jacks accept -5 to +5 volts like the Little/Slim Phatty instead of 0 to +5. CV output jacks would be great too.

If it has an arp and maybe even a sequencer CV out would be really nice! Wood panels are pretty to, but can more easily be retrofitted.

I don’t think wood sides look good on Phatty design. I wouldn’t want wood sides on my SUB, it looks perfect as it is.
In my future Sub 37 I’d like CV outs!
And it’s got arp and seq already! Yummy!

I like to have aftertouch. When I play chords with other synths, I can’t use the mod-wheel while playing the a lead synth at the same time. So aftertouch helps here a lot for more expressive one handed playing. Velocity is good for some parameters, but not vibrato.

CV out.

Aftertouch.

CV out can be an option though…

AFTERTOUCH!!

CV Out!!!

Looks like it does have aftertouch!

Yeah, I’m even more excited!!

I would like to add, not just cv and gate out but more ins also.

  • Since its such a big part maybe have a separate cv in for oscillator two?
  • wave form in
  • multi drive in
  • external level/ feedback in
  • clock in ( for arp, lfo, and envelopes)
  • then the usual pitch, filter, audio, volume and gate in

as for outs;

  • arp/sequencer pitch and gate out ( thanks again for listening to my idea to use the program buttons as sequencer steps! [not implemented yet though])
  • filter envelope out
  • amp envelope out
  • keyboard pitch and gate out
  • mod buss 1 and 2 out
I think that’s all i can think of… anybody else want to add to the list?

otherwise it’s near perfect I think ( if it had a multimode filter it would be perfect I think… maybe for the 8 voice  )

Ok, so as it does have aftertouch, I’ll second most of us: CV out.

Oh, something else: wouldn’t be great to have the three Little Phatty knob modes? The LCD could indicate how far the knob from the actual value as soon as the know is touched, but this would be the ice on the ice on the cake. Plus I’ve heard about zipping sound when the Voyager displays the knob moves… Id don’t know.

Anyway!! Again, thanks Moog

as far as I’m concerned I don’t even think this needs presets for anything other than arp/ sequencer data ( we’ll have to wait and see what done if those under the hood features are though)

as for zippering on the voyager? I’ve never experienced that, there is a quick jump though if say you open saved patch where the filter is almost completely closed, but the knob on the panel is set all the open. so when you move that knob, there is no smooth transition between settings (which is a shame, it is really my only complaint with the synth though)

Indeed the Voyager has no knob modes. The zippering is not related with that but with the display in real teim of the paramter value you are acting on. Well, that’s what I understood.

Regarding the Sub37 I was wondering if it could be possible to have PASS THROUGH and … (what is it again?..the one where the knob movement smoothly approaches the value…) modes where the Little Phatty LED colar indication would be displayed on the screen. For example, a horizontal bar indicating wich way you have to move the knob to make it match with the parameter.

Thninking out loud, giving potential ideas.

That being, I’m like you: I love using a synth with no presets. Just wandering on the panel, from surprise to surprise

It has the most important feature for me, the around’ $1500 price point so I can actually afford to buy one!

However, i’m not personally into the ‘wood sides’ look for this instrument. This is a ‘Modern Moog’ after all and I think the silver control panel version that someone mocked-up online retains the inspiring mad science/test equipment vibe of the Sub Phatty.

It would seem to make sense to keep the ‘Sub’ family visually consistent as the earlier ‘Phatty’s’ were, and to save the wood for the Voyager’s which have more of a legacy thing going on anyway.

My two cents, I know many will disagree!

Continued from my last post…

How rude & inconsiderate of me to forget to say thank you and congratulations to all the folks at Moog for their work on this exciting new instrument!

Omg… Omg… Arpeggiator, Sequencer, TWO LFO’s!!, More distortion AND aftertouch!!! Someone hurry up and buy my Telecaster already, it’s almost April!

Super Excited!

How about being able to polychain with my SubPhatty?? That’d be nice. Then I could justify keeping it. That is until NAMM 2015 when the successor to the Little Phatty comes out… Or perhaps a new flagship synth. Moog is a legit business… So of course they have already been working on the next big thing for next year. And I by no means mean that in a negative way. I just wish I have more disposable income. Don’t we all.

They probably could have made this a 2-voice if they wanted to, but Tom Oberheim would have been very displeased.

CV outs is a must, especially for those looping envelopes and syncd Arp/Seq.

well that’s what we thought about the 104m & 108m.. but yes I REALLY hope they add CV OUT. I think we would all be willing to pay a little more for it

I hope Moog will keep natural wood sides for the standard edition. No plastic, no black stained wood, please.
