Hi, not sure if possible but seems like it would be . . .
What I want to do:
Record the MIDI CC automation data from the MOOG Sub 37 into Ableton’s MIDI clip automation/envelopes. Example:
If I turn the filter cutoff knob (#CC 19) on the Sub 37, I want it to actually change the MIDI clip’s envelopes in Ableton Live.
I can manually input the MIDI clip automation in Ableton which sends the data to the Sub 37 perfectly (see Image), but wondering if I can do the opposite and turn knobs on the Sub 37 and record the automation into the MIDI clip’s envelopes in Ableton?
Hopefully that makes some sort of sense.

Yep, it’s possible to do this for all controller lanes (except CC8 - LFO2 which is a bug being fixed). Like jsharpphoto says, make sure the MIDI i/o is setup correctly… watch out for feedback loop (turn local control off). I’m not at my rig at the moment, but if you still have trouble i can snap you my i/o.
I’m working on a sub 37 max for live device and noticed, via midi monitor, that the multi drive knob is sending cc #18 and cc#19. Is this a bug or working properly? Seems a little odd to me, thanks!
