Pre-sales question. I would like to use the Sub 37 arp to arpeggiate a Minitaur. I know this is possible per the manual and I understand how to connect it via Midi, but have some questions regarding local control
Does the Arp on the 37 output if the 37’s local is off?
Does the sequencer continue to run on the 37 if the local is off? In other words, could I have a sequence on the 37 running, shut local off, and then send an Arp to the Minitaur?
If “no” to the above, can I have an external sequencer drive the Sub 37 while sending the 37’s arp out to the Minitaur
I can’t use the sub37 sequencer for an external synth and still use the sub37.
it would be nice to be able to assign a specific midi channel just for the sub37 sequencer, so we could use it as a standalone. but right now, we can’t.
Many thanks aroom. I am guessing the arpeggiator works a lot like the sequencer in that regard.
So I guess the only question… does the 37’s arp work when local is off? Some synths support this (for instance the Bass Station II), but most don’t, so if anyone could fill in the blanks I would be most appreciative.
With local keys set to off, the arp is sent via midi to an external device with no sound coming out of the sub 37 - the keyboard/arp of the sub 37 just affect the external device.
If I have local keys set to on, set off a latched arp on the sub 37, so it’s playing on the sub 37 and the external at the same time, turning the local keys to off does just that - it stops ANY key controller info being sent locally. So if a note is playing, it will just sustain on the sub 37 (as it doesn’t get the note off control).
