Sub 37 & Ableton live help / Sync / midi clock / Recording

Hi peeps

My first post in here, Any help would be massively appreciated,I just got my Sub 37, I am having a few small teething problems with Ableton

  1. When applying external instrument to use the Sub via Midi & Recording The Sub midi notes are showing in the sequencer what i have played but i can not play them back or here them ?
  2. Also How do i get the sub 37 playing in Sync with Ableton

I have managed to record the sub 37 via an audio channel in Live which works fine for Playback but obviously its out of time & im having to chop & edit etc
