So I just moved my studio into a new room in the house. Connected everything up how it used to be. However, now when I plug a TRS 1/4 cable from the SP’s audio out into the input of my interface, there is a static noise, very noticeable. It did not do this prior, ever. I’ve changed cables and it did not solve the problem. I’ve plugged into all 4 inputs on my interface and the static noise is still there. It’s not my interface because when I plug a microphone into the input, the static noise is not there. The only thing left to suspect is my SP. Might there be a setting on the SP that may be causing this?
Please don’t tell me my $800 toy is starting to default. I’ve only had it for 4 months!
While the static noise is there, I can still play/record and hear playback fine. Any ideas?
I don’t have another hardware synth that I can try, but I did plug in my electric guitar as well and there is no static noise whatsoever. At this point, I’m pretty convinced that the problem is my SP.
The SP has a noise source that you can use for modulation… Maybe something tripped it on? Try futzing with that.
Is your audio interface and SP plugged into the same wall outlet? I have tons of RF issues in my studio caused by ground loops and non-isolated grounds… I live right under giant radio towers so i constantly get weird issues no matter what I use.
